1. Fact-Checking & Citations

Fact-Checking and Citations

Alfa’s fact-checking model is tied to the article pipeline rather than bolted on afterward. The goal is to preserve evidence and article structure together so the draft is easier to trust and easier to review.

How It Fits in the Pipeline

Fact review happens after the main draft is written and before final polish is complete.

At a high level:

  1. research is gathered
  2. the draft is written
  3. claims are reviewed against the available source material
  4. the final payload can retain citations and verification metadata

What Alfa Can Surface

Depending on the run output, Alfa can expose:

  • citations attached to article content
  • a verification score
  • source-linked section data
  • JSON export payloads that preserve metadata

The exact verification data depends on what the run produced. Some workflows surface a richer citation trail than others, so the article export is often the best source of truth for downstream systems.

Where You See It

In the App

The article review surface and export flow can include:

  • citation lists
  • metadata for SEO and structure
  • final article JSON for downstream tooling

In the CLI

alfa article export --format json is the most straightforward way to inspect the raw article payload and metadata from the terminal.

Best Practices

If factual precision matters, use Alfa with stronger source discipline:

  • keep the brand profile grounded in real product and market context
  • prefer topic discovery or clear topic imports over vague prompts
  • review exported article payloads for citation completeness
  • keep a human review step before publication on high-stakes claims

What This Feature Is Not

Alfa is not a legal or editorial approval system. It helps preserve research structure and expose factual scaffolding, but final publication responsibility still belongs to the team using it.
