Frequently Asked Questions
Product Basics
Alfa is an AI-native SEO workspace for SaaS teams. It combines brand setup, topic discovery, article generation, article review, exports, WordPress publishing, and CLI automation.
Yes for most serious use. Alfa can generate from a direct prompt, but topic discovery, stronger voice alignment, internal links, and better product framing all depend on having a brand profile.
Yes. The brand creation flow can analyze your website and suggest brand details such as products, audience, competitors, and candidate article URLs for voice analysis.
Brand and Voice
You can paste one to three article URLs and let Alfa infer a voice profile, or you can edit the resulting guidance directly. The profile feeds future topic and article generation.
Alfa supports a mix of structured and freeform context, including preferred terms, forbidden words, internal links, products, competitors, CTA goals, audience details, and voice samples.
Topics and Articles
The current writing flow supports listicles, topic guides, comparisons, how-to guides, alternatives guides, and product reviews.
Topic discovery asks Alfa to research a brand and generate a structured backlog. Topic import lets you bring your own topics from CSV or JSON and use Alfa mainly for enrichment and writing.
Yes. The app and the CLI both include retry paths for stalled or failed work. The topic backlog and article status flows are designed around persisted run state rather than one-shot requests.
No. Alfa helps with topic selection, article structure, SEO metadata, and content quality, but ranking outcomes still depend on site authority, competition, technical SEO, distribution, and links.
Review, Export, and Publishing
The current app supports copying Markdown, HTML, and plain text, plus exporting Markdown, MDX, HTML, and JSON.
Yes. WordPress is the clearest direct publishing flow in the current app. It is configured per brand in Settings and supports draft or immediate publish behavior.
Alfa’s settings surface lists Webflow CMS, Ghost, HubSpot CMS, Shopify Blog, Next.js, API/Webhooks, and Alfa-hosted blog options. WordPress is the most complete current setup flow.
Pricing and Quotas
Alfa tracks three buckets: articles, topic research, and brand profiles. The exact limits depend on your assigned tier and are visible in Billing.
The active codebase currently uses a beta tier with 5 article runs, 1 topic discovery run, and 1 brand profile.
The in-app Pro plan currently advertises 9 articles per month, 2 topic discovery runs per month, and up to 3 brand profiles, with additional publishing and collaboration features.
CLI
Yes. Alfa ships @alfaai/cli, which supports auth, quota checks, brand creation, topic discovery, topic import, article creation, status tracking, export, listing, and retry.
The CLI uses a device authorization flow. You run alfa auth login, approve the code in your browser, and the CLI stores an API token for future requests.
